What is preservation ?
Most of people think preservation is to mummifythings, which represent the idea of memories. Yet, sometimes an old picturecan tell the story more than mummified objects. Thus, weframehistorical buildings in different angles as time progressing. All those historical objects became the scale of time. Consequently,
Instead of designing spaces we are designing time.
城市做為一個博物館的存在 | CITY IS A MUSEUM
Taipei is a middle-aged city. Further, there are a lot of urban renewal issues. Specially, the environment around our site, they have been mostly constructed during 1960s, 5 stories high without lift. According to the master plan from Taipei government, we also propose 5 to 7 stories high volume for retailing and residential on site. To speculate how urban context will be changed in terms of urban development regulation. Within 2 decades, the surrounding will become tower buildings. Our project will be a place where people still can experience the original Taipei unban spaces.

從不間斷的博物館 | THE REVERSED MUSEUM
When the construction finished, all those temporary passages will become permanent streets inside the block which allow people to penetrate from the main street.
Those streets create openings along the perimeter of site. With those openings, we frame the enveloped historical monuments from outside and situate people to perceive
them. By doing that, the site became not a typical museum but a museum which has been reversed inside-out.
